Illinois Healthy Women Program
Medequote know's birth control can be expensive if it is not covered by your healthcare plan. Illinois offers a state sponsored program that you may qualify for.
The Illinois Healthy Women Program pays for birth control, physical exams and lab tests women need to plan their pregnancies. It is a great supplement to your Illinois Health Insurance program.
You are eligible for Illinois Healthy Women if:
- You have lost regular medical benefits from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS),
- You are at least 19 and no older than 44,
- You are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a Social Security number, and
- You live in Illinois.
Illinois Healthy Women also pays for mammograms ordered during the family planning visit, pap smears and treatment of sexually transmitted infections found during the family planning visit, to help women stay healthy.
Family planning services are free, however, you may be required to pay a small co-payment if you choose to get brand name vitamins or other medicines ordered by a doctor.
Illinois Healthy Women is a voluntary program ý you do not have to use it and can cancel at any time.
All family planning services that a woman gets are confidential.
There is no application for Illinois Healthy Women. If you qualify, you will get a Pink Illinois Healthy Women card in the mail.
